From Tahoe City south to Emerald Bay is the historic West Shore of Lake Tahoe. Within this region are several of Tahoe’s most established communities. Many of Tahoe’s largest lakefront acreage estates are found on the West Shore.
The West Shore of Lake Tahoe starts south of the Truckee River across Fanny Bridge covers Comstock, Sunnyside/Talmont area, then on to Homewood, Tahoma and Rubicon Bay with its beautiful sandy beaches. Homewood is a very historic area of Lake Tahoe and is best known as the home of Homewood Mountain Resort which has the best lake view and powder skiing in the basin and Obexer’s Marina (now over 100 years old). Also on Tahoe’s West Shore are Sugar Pine Point State Park, DL Bliss State Park, and the iconic Emerald Bay.
