Dollar Point, named after the wealthy lumber baron and philanthropist Robert Dollar, is considered one of North Lake Tahoe’s premier neighborhoods. Located just east of Tahoe City, this highly desirable community consists of approximately 600 homes (39 of which are lakefront properties) enjoys lakefront amenities with sandy beach, pier and buoy field, as well as tennis courts and a large swimming pool. Dollar Point HOA has an annual fee of under $1000. Most properties are members of Dollar Point Homeowners Association, but if not owners may join with an initiation fee of around $25,000.

The Highlands (aka Highlands Green or Dollar Hill), located on the uphill side of North Lake Blvd has a suburban feel because a large percentage of home owners are full time. The Highlands is home to the Tahoe X-C Center, a 50 km facility groomed for skate skiing and diagonal striding. During summer months, it is a popular place to mountain bike. Adjacent to the neighborhood is the paved bike trail connecting Tahoe City and Squaw Valley to Carnelian Heights (above Carnelian Bay). No HOA dues or amenities. Houses start at $700,000.
Panorama Estates is located between Dollar Hill and Lake Forest and just up hill from Skylandia Beach. No HOA dues or amenities. Houses start at $900,000.
