Carnelian Bay

Carnelian Bay (formerly Cornelian Bay) was founded in 1880 and named for the semi-precious red and yellow Chalcedony stones blanketing its shoreline. It is located on the beautiful North Shore of Lake Tahoe between Tahoe City and Tahoe Vista offering an array of recreational opportunities with its picturesque public beaches, Sierra Boat Company slip rentals and boat maintenance, and Waterman’s Landing paddleboard rentals and café. Tahoe National Forest surrounds every subdivision with a vast network of hiking and mountain biking trails. Carnelian Bay also is home to the iconic Gar Woods Grill and Pier known for their Wet Woody drink.
