Squaw Valley once hosted the 1960 Olympic Winter Games putting Squaw Valley on the map as a world-class ski area. 

Squaw Valley or Olympic Valley? The valley is officially called Olympic Valley since the town actually called Squaw Valley is located east of Fresno. But we call it Squaw Valley as most do, but stay tunes. There is talk about changing the ski area’s name. Rumors are “Alpine Meadows North” or “Alterra.” 

This popular valley surrounded by majestic granite peaks has grown into a year-round destination. During the warm season visitors and locals enjoy the beautiful hiking trails, paved bike trail, and golfing at the Resort at Squaw Creek. Shopping and dining can be found in the Village at Squaw, most of them dog-friendly. There are many kid friendly options, from mini golf, to musical performances, bungee jumping, movies, and more. Squaw Valley is conveniently located between Historic Truckee and Tahoe City via Highway 89.

Squaw Valley real estate offers a mix of cabins, modern homes, condos, townhouses, and resort lodging. It has fifteen subdivisions making up approximately six hundred home sites. Since its beginning, this neighborhood has been grown because of the high demand for new and custom homes. There are six new subdivisions in the area: Squaw Summit, Home sites at Squaw Creek, Squaw Peak, Creekside Estates, Painted Rock, and Hidden Lake, each of them offer modern custom looks and luxurious amenities. Smaller cabins range start at $750,000. Squaw Valley also offers a variety of condos and townhouses which can start around $300,000. Condos are available at The Village, Resort at Squaw Creek, and Squaw Valley Lodge offering ski in/out, shopping, dining, spas, and more amenities.
